Seija is a Registered Psychotherapist who holds a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology. Her work stems from an empathetic, trauma-informed approach and uses a collaboration of different styles of therapy to be able to adapt to the client’s needs, some of which include Cognitive Processing Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) therapy. She has specialized trauma processing training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), as well as additional training in working with Military Veterans and First Responders.

Seija’s passion lies in helping clients with healing after they have experienced traumatic events. She helps to reduce the impact these traumas have on the individual and to empower them to feel more in control of their lives in the here-and-now.  Seija believes that human connection and compassion are essential to the therapeutic relationship and brings warmth, kindness and understanding into her sessions.

Seija has special interest and experience in working with Military, First Responders, First Nations and LGBTQ2+ clients. She also has experience working with clients who have a diverse range of clinical issues including post-traumatic stress disorder, attachment trauma, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, brain injury, stress management, burnout, and body image.
