Heather is a registered social worker with a Masters of Social Work degree. She works from a client-centred approach that is trauma informed. She believes that meaningful change occurs by accessing your individual strengths and building on them through a collaborative and compassionate process.
Heather has over two decades of experience supporting clients in a variety of treatment settings including, substance abuse and mental health outpatient care. This experience includes helping clients with substance use issues of a loved one, grief and loss, stress, attachment trauma, brain injury, disordered eating, depression and relationship difficulties.
Heather is experienced in various evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Solution Focused and Emotionally Focused Therapy.
